Yesterday

I'll start off writing about the basketball tournament last night. Yes, a tournament that only lasted one day. He played three games in just over three hours. This it the first time that I've seen his team play. I have to say that I'm impressed with the talent on the team. My fourth grader did rather well. I think he scored at least one basket each game. One thing he does have to work on is his ball handling skills but other than that he's come along way. They won their first game, lost their second, and won their third game. Their loss was a thriller though. They only lost by two points. My son threw it up with only 8 seconds left but missed. He was near the three point line when he shot. The coach commented to him that with 8 seconds left three more passes could have been made before a shot had to go up. I'm glad the coach mentioned it because he doesn't take constructive criticism well from me.

Yesterday afternoon I went to see Twilight. When I read the book I had a certain image in my head... The movie was good, but I had higher expectations. I did see though that they will be making New Moon into a movie! For those of you that have no idea of what I'm talking about just visit www.stepheniemeyer.com.

I'm about to start reading "The Hour I First Believed" by Wally Lamb. I'm extremely excited about this new book. He also wrote "She's Come Undone" and "I Know This Much Is True". If you have not read either of these two books, I highly recommend them.

Be Ok

Tonight I was extremely lucky to go on a date with my man. I have many kid obligations which I love to do but it was nice to get away. We went to go see Ingrid Michaelson play at the Barrymore. If you don't know who she is click here to see her myspace page. I have to say listening to her on her myspace page does not give her justice! She's is much better live on stage. In my opinion she is an extremely talented musician. My favorite songs are "Breakable", "Be OK", and "Overboard". Of course "The way I am" is awesome too... My daughter and I love to sing in the car to "Overboard". Yes she knows the words!

Piano Recital

Her first piano recital! She just started piano this year so she's no Beethoven... yet! Here is a glimpse of what she can do thus far! PS if you can't tell it's "Old McDonald".

Basketball

He played in a 4th grade basketball tournament this past weekend. Here he is sinking free throws just like his mother use too back in the day!

Halloween

I know this is about a week late, but better late then never! I had a vampire and a singer in my midst. Oh ya and the scary witch!

Here are pictures from her ice skating event! BTW she got first place in both events! She was only up against one other person though... She was extremely excited to get a trophy! She plans to take her trophies to school for show and tell on Friday.
